EV charging stations

The following charging options are available to our guests at the Grünes Hotel zur Post for a fee: 1 × Type 2 wallbox with cable (11 kW, 32 A), 7 × Type 2 with cable or plug (9 kW, 32 A), 2 × CEE 32 A, 5-pin, with mobile charger – Type 2 (11 kW, 32 A), 3 × Schuko (16 A).
Part of the energy comes from our own three photovoltaic systems (17.00 kWp, 10.25 kWp and 3.6 kWp – total output 30.85 kWp). The rest of the energy we buy is certified green electricity. Links to help you charge your electric car: GoingElectric, Salzburg AG, Tesla charging network & ChargeFinder
Photovoltaic systems
Our three PV systems with a total output of 31 kWp produce between 25,000 and 30,000 kWh of clean solar energy annually. This covers a large part of our electricity needs directly on site.

Since 2024, the Grünes Hotel zur Post has been supporting Eroret Preparatory School in Loodoriak, Kenya, with financial contributions. The money is used to plant trees – including fruit trees that provide food for the children. Surplus fruit is sold at markets to generate additional income. The trees also offer protection from environmental factors such as wind and flooding.
We travelled to Kenya in person to get to know the project, John, Esther and the pupils. An inspiring journey into life in the bush – a place with a future and with prospects.

about our green initiatives
Breakfast with 100% organic food
Organic food is at the heart of our sustainable management and of a healthy lifestyle! And our guests should be able to eat healthily, sustainably and organically, with gluten-free and vegan options too. You can find more information on our organic breakfast page.
Water-saving taps
Older washbasin taps use 15.2 litres of water per minute. By fitting water-saving inserts, we have reduced this to 7.2 litres per minute, and in the showers water consumption has dropped from 14 to 9 litres. With this flow rate and the right shower heads, there is no noticeable loss of quality. Total savings of approx. 775 m³ of water and approx. 30,000 kWh of energy for heating water add up to 8,500 kg of CO₂ saved.
LED lighting
To keep our electricity and energy consumption low as well, we use only LED bulbs and energy-saving lamps for our lighting.
Organic cotton towels
Our towels and bath mats are made from 100% organic cotton. No toxic or synthetic substances are used in their production.
Waste management
We follow the principle of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”. For us, dealing with waste starts with avoiding it. We buy our organic food in bulk packs and avoid PVC packaging at the breakfast buffet as far as we can. The waste that remains is carefully sorted and disposed of properly.
Eco-friendly toiletries
Our shower gel and soap come from MARíAS® in Salzburg (a brand of Pieper Biokosmetik Manufaktur GmbH). All products carry the certified organic cosmetics seal from AUSTRIA BIO GARANTIE.
Bicycle and e-bike hire
You can borrow bikes from us free of charge, subject to availability. Salzburg has an excellent network of cycle paths, and we have the right maps and ideas for you.
